ISBANK Mobile Banking Case Study
The Challenge
IsBank is Turkey’s largest bank with over 15 Million customers. The bank wanted to improve its customer service and was looking for new ways to enhance customer satisfaction. One of the goals was to make the bank more accessible. Opening the mobile phone channel for customers to do transactions was a good way to increase the availability of the bank. This would also lead to reduction in load on the branch which is a more expensive channel.
What IsBank wanted was an integrated mobile banking application that would make available most of the functions available on-line on their mobile phone. They needed a vendor with experience in development on the complex and heterogeneous mobile device platforms.
Our Approach
Pozitron’s Integrated Mobile Banking (IMB) application is built on Java and hence works across all device types. IMB is a Java VerifiedTM and has been tested successfully on about 400 device types. The “IsCep” application which uses JavaTM technology can be downloaded to a wide range of handset devices. Once customers sign up online for the service, they are able to download the mobile banking application along with “Is Bankasi” icon to their personal devices.
Through the rich graphical interface of the “IsCep” application, clients are able to access their accounts, check account balances, transfer funds and exchange currencies. The service also covers stock buy/sales, investment inquiries and credit card payments.
More advanced than other technologies such as WAP and SMS, Iş Bank’s innovative application provides banking anywhere and anytime. The launch of this brand new product was also covered by the international media.
Result
Over 30,000 customers of IsBank use the IsCep application for performing various banking transactions through the convenience of their mobile phone. The launch of this application has also helped IsBank position itself as a leader in providing high-tech and value-added services for its customers.
The cost for the bank of processing a transaction through IsCep is 30% of the cost of processing an internet banking transaction.
