KAPALI DEVRE - Cevahir Mall Case Study
The Challenge
With a gross floor area of 420.000 square meters and 348.300 square meters of usable retail space, Cevahir Istanbul is the world’s second largest shopping mall after West Edmonton Mall in Canada. Cevahir Shopping Mall has 280 shops, 34 fast food courts and 14 exclusive restaurants.. A crowd of 450,000 people visited the complex on its opening day in 2005. An average 200,000 visitors visit the mall daily.
Çukurova group's SkyTurk TV Channel bought the rights of in-store media broadcasting (Digital Signage) for Cevahir shopping center. The challenge in this project was to reach and engage consumers through ads on LCD screens while they are shopping in the world’s 2nd largest mall. For this purpose the partnership had to install hundreds of LCD screens in a huge area with Pozitron’s Kapalı Devre software running on it.
This is the largest mono-building digital signage project ever done in Turkey.
Our Approach
Pozitron’s Kapalı Devre program was already up in the market before this giant project started. We wanted to deliver our programming with no technical difficulties and customize it for Cevahir Shopping Center. We were providing the users with an easy set up and also enabling them to remotely and automatically schedule and distribute their content to individual screens or multiple screens. Our Kapalı Devre program was targeting to give users full control of their digital signage network in Cevahir 24 hours a day, allowing the deliverance of the right message in the right place at the right time.

Pozitron and Çukurova group’s digital signage project for Cevahir is by far the biggest in Turkey. It was the first time more than 250 plasma screens were installed in one building. Pozitron & Çukurova are also partners with a leading broadcast company to entertain and inform shoppers throughout the store. The quality content for Kapalı Devre was provided by Çukurova’s news network, SkyTurk.
