How does it work?
For users, all they have to do is to download and install the application on their mobile phone.
The application can be downloaded through by clicking on a link sent by an SMS, or the link can be directly browsed by the phones browser.
Once the application is downloaded users can log on using their already existing betting account or become a member using SBOMO.
Once the user logs in, he/she is connected to the system.
Users can choose from the available sports events, see the rates, place their bets and stakes.
Users can check live odds, open new accounts, view their balance and withdraw funds through SBOMO.
The application is stored directly on user’s mobile phone. It can be found in either the applications or the games folder of their phone. Once the application is downloaded it stays on the phone.
Security
SBOMO is digitally signed and Java verified by Unified Testing Initiative, therefore mobile phones won’t pop-up a certification question such as “application SBOMO is untrusted continue anyway?”
Your SBOMO application will already be verified by Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Benq Siemens, LG, Samsung, Vodafone and Sun Microsystems.
SBOMO is trusted!
The application can also use HTTP-SSL secure connection for security aware processes, e.g. credit card transactions. You can assign your website’s credit card system on Mobile without making any changes.
User’s can log on to the mobile version of your website with the same username and password. However if they want to become a member, they can sign up on mobile and make transactions on mobile.
Technically
SBOMO picks up the information from the temporary data chunk which is generated by the backend using XML feed of the website and automatically updates upcoming bets. It communicates with the server through GPRS and/or 3G and exchanges XML based messages obeying a custom schema.
It’s automatic!
SBOMO can be implemented on J2ME for CLDC 1.0/MIDP 2.0 devices. The application’s JAR size comes around 100 – 150 KB. Heap memory usage is less than the memory capacity of the devices available.
In 3G networks it takes less than 3 seconds to download the application and installation takes about 30 seconds.
The cost & Distribution
The users are charged at standard WAP/GPRS airtime rate according to their tariff. Users will only be charged if you decide to place a bet.
There are no additional charges for placing the bets so users’ payments will only be for the amount of their bet. If they have an existing balance on their account they will use their balance for placing the bet.
If you want to distribute this application with an SMS campaign, additional revenue can be created by SMS traffic.
